𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐚 𝐃𝐮-𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐝, the Founding Partner and CEO of 𝐁𝐃𝐁 𝐋𝐚𝐰, moderated an economic briefing ‘𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐇𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐳𝐨𝐧’ with esteemed panelists: 𝐃𝐫. 𝐂𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐨 𝐅. 𝐇𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐨, Professor of Economics of Ateneo de Manila University, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐉𝐞𝐬𝐮𝐬 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐨, Founder and Chairman Emeritus Institute of Corporate Directors, and 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐬 𝐆. 𝐄𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐚, Former Chairman Institute of Corporate Directors.

The discourse started with a briefing of where we are today, using the ‘Pitik test’ (Presyo, Trabaho, Kita) of Dr. Habito, and then elevated the discussion by identifying the ills and the hindrances that keep the needle stagnant. It ended with, what can we do, how can we in the private sector help.

The importance of recognizing the interconnected nature of challenges and the essentials of a healthy and skilled workforce were highlighted. This entails addressing issues such as malnutrition and stunting, not just through feeding programs but also addressing food security, making nutritious food affordable and accessible. The shared prosperity principle should guide businessmen, promoting inclusive practices that contribute to the overall well-being of society.

To move the needle, it's essential to break away from conventional approaches that yield stagnant results. Embracing a focus on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) considerations becomes pivotal in fostering sustainability and ethical practices.

This event was organized by 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 (𝐈𝐂𝐃) and hosted by 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐅𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐚 𝐌. 𝐃𝐞𝐥 𝐑𝐨𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨, Undersecretary of Department of Budget and Management.
