𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐁𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐚 “𝐃𝐢𝐜𝐤” 𝐃𝐮-𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐝, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐄𝐎 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐮-𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐝 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 (𝐁𝐃𝐁 𝐋𝐚𝐰), delivered a briefing on the business and legal landscape of doing business in the Philippines to the Lithuanian business delegation headed by the 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐨𝐟 𝐋𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐚'𝐬 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐀𝐟𝐟𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐬, 𝐇.𝐄. 𝐆𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐮𝐬 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐢𝐬. The event was hosted by the 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬 (𝐌𝐀𝐏).
In her briefing, Atty. Dick extensively presented the reforms that have been and are currently being done to improve the investment climate in the country. These include the economic liberalization laws, foreign ownership participation, corporate and regulatory reforms, taxation and economic policy reforms. She explained company structures, minimum capital requirements, government agency registration processes, and practical methods for starting a business in the Philippines.
As the Lithuanian delegation were mostly in renewable energy, oil and gas, electronics manufacturing, and information technology, Atty. Dick also explained the vast opportunities in these sectors for collaboration, partnerships, and joint ventures both with the private business sector and the government, tax incentive applicable, including particular regulations and registrations for these sectors. She discussed the fair, attractive and improved features of the expanded Public-Private Partnership Code and its collaborative role in undertaking business with the government to pursue national development projects.
